The Special Interest Group (SIG) Universal Accessibility – The Inclusive Museum invites CECA members to two brainstorming sessions dedicated to staff onboarding and ongoing training in matters related to accessibility. They will be based on the poster with recommendations that was developed by SIG members previously and is now available in three ICOM languages. We will discuss how these recommendations can be instrumentalized for the onboarding of new staff members and for continuous professional development purposes.

During the first session, on February 23, 2026, we will focus on the goals and objectives: what skills do we want to develop? What knowledge is to be acquired? What changes in attitude do we expect?

The second session, on May 18, 2026, will deal with the possibilities of assessing the success of onboarding and training. We will discuss the ways to reliably evaluate the professional development endeavors in accessibility.

We will meet on Microsoft Teams at 2pm (time in London). Please join the community at Teams to get all updates. These sessions will be held in English and will compliment the meetings of the French-language group, which continues adapting the poster to make it an accessible tool in terms of both language and contents.
