Awards
Every year, CECA presents three awards that recognise outstanding work by its members in museum education and cultural action: one for research, one for practice and one for young professionals. The winners are honoured at the CECA Annual Conference. Calls for applications are announced in the spring on this website and in the CECA Newsletter.
Colette Dufresne-Tassé Research Award
What is it?
An award for original research in museum education. Applicants submit a full research paper in English, French or Spanish. A committee of three, appointed by the CECA Board, assesses the rigour of the research and its contribution to museum education and/or cultural action. The winner presents the paper at the Annual Conference, it is published on the CECA website, and CECA contributes towards the winner’s conference attendance.
Who can apply?
CECA members (personal or institutional) who have personally carried out original, unpublished research for their own institution or a group of institutions that includes their own. Colleagues or students may take part as co-authors. Members of the CECA Board cannot apply.
Why this award?
The award was created in 2015 and named after Colette Dufresne-Tassé. It aims to stimulate research among CECA members and to strengthen the link between theory and practice in museums worldwide.
