From the beginnings to now

This Memory page brings together the highlights of the CECA’s development:
Chronology, activities, scientific publications, personalities, through documents and photographies.
At the first ICOM General Conference in Paris in July 1948, one of the five sections was devoted to education and children’s museums; on the first day of the conference, their leaders had the opportunity to present their work in a plenary session.
One of the oldest photos of this conference preserved in the ICOM archives shows the leaders of the education section, which would later lead to the creation of CECA.
In the centre is Grace McCann Morley (with the bag), to the right is Margaret Brayton (in black) and Renée Marcousé, behind her is probably Madeleine Mainstone.
